On February 20, 2005, Andrea Arrigoni, a private investigator, had traveled to Verona, Italy after a dinner with his parents. He called and told them he was going to his office, but he took a detour, heading to a well-known red light district in search of a prostitute. He picked up 30 year old Galina Shafranek, but they got into a violent altercation that witnesses reported to the police.
