Growing up as a “polite Puerto Rican,” and never feeling anchored to any relationships or groups made for a lonely, sad, and angry start to my adulthood. All this led to misunderstanding mental health and feeling shame for questioning my emotional problems. I want to express myself now as a person with pride and knowledge of who I am (becoming.) I want to share knowledge I’ve gained about depression and anxiety. Maybe my mundane thoughts and ramblings might resonate with someone out there. Maybe what I say will allow others to learn or feel less alone.
