Our Miss Brooks was a radio sitcom that first aired on CBS Radio on 19 July 1948. It tells the story of an English teacher, Connie Brooks, which was portrayed by the American actress Eve Arden. It was such a hit among many listeners during its run that it received several awards including Arden winning the Radio Mirror magazine's poll for the best radio comedienne of the year for the years of 1948 and 1949.
