Influenced by his Norwegian heritage, he explored folk music's impact on Norwegian jazz during a Fulbright Grant in Oslo. His debut album, Pocket Guides, received critical acclaim and multiple awards. Beyond jazz, Ben is a versatile composer for film, theatre, and opera, with works performed by top ensembles.
